Pre-K Program
Our Pre-K classes are currently located in all seven of our elementary school buildings. In addition the 3 year old programs will be housed at private providers: HOPES Hamilton Center, Little Honors, Little Genius Planet. There is also one PreK classroom which is housed at the Franklin Township High School as part of their Early Childhood Development Lab. Program start and end times vary depending on each individual school’s tier level. However, all of our Pre-K classes are in session for 6.25 hours daily, Monday through Friday. Each class can have up to fifteen students, some spaces of which are reserved for students who may have an IEP (Individual Education Plan). Each Pre-K class, which is organized for developmentally appropriate preschool activities, is instructed by a highly qualified teacher and one teaching assistant. Our classroom environment allows children to have independent access to materials and activities. They are set up to include learning centers that encourage children’s experiences with blocks, books, dramatic play, creative arts, writing, manipulatives, math, science, sand and water. All of our Pre-K classrooms utilize the HighScope curriculum. The HighScope curriculum is one of the five approved preschool curriculums for the state of New Jersey.
